Billboard advertiser terms

Last updated 20 October 2026. These apply when you book a billboard in Life in Accra, on top of the terms of play.

What you're buying

A picture advert for one week, Monday to Sunday (GMT), with your brand, headline, one more line and an optional website shown when a player taps it. Either a campaign: the advert is shown in turn with other advertisers' adverts (a few seconds each) on every digital street board in the package you choose (one neighbourhood, every market and lorry station, or the whole city), and as a line on the in-game radio ticker; or a premium site: the advert alone on one large billboard. It's seen by players who pass the boards, and is always labelled as an ad. We tell you how many different players passed your boards, but we don't promise a number of views.

Your picture

PNG or JPEG, wide like the board (about 2:1, for example 1800 × 840 pixels), up to 2 MB, uploaded or linked. We keep a copy of it when you book, and that copy is what we check and what runs: changing the picture at your link afterwards doesn't change the board. You must own the picture or have the right to use it, including any people, logos or music shown in it.

Price and payment

The price is shown in Ghana cedis before you pay and is the full amount you'll be charged. Payment is taken by Paystack (mobile money or card). Paystack emails your receipt. Your week is held for 15 minutes while you pay.

Review

Every advert is checked by a person before it runs. If we turn it down, you get a full refund to the way you paid, and we tell you why.

Cancelling

You can cancel while your advert is waiting for review, or up to 48 hours before its week starts, for a full refund. After that the week is yours and isn't refundable. If we can't show your advert for its week because of a fault on our side, we'll refund you or move it to a week you choose.

What you promise

What can't be advertised

Betting or gambling; investment, forex, crypto or money-doubling schemes; loans; medicines, herbal cures, clinics or pharmacies; alcohol, tobacco or vaping; skin-bleaching products; weapons; adult services; political parties, candidates or campaigns. No phone numbers or social handles in the text (use the website box), and no rude words. The same rules apply to everything in the picture.

Removal

We may take down an advert that breaks these terms, is reported and found to be misleading, or that a regulator or rights-holder asks us to remove. If it broke these terms, there's no refund; otherwise you're refunded for the days it didn't run (a day it showed on counts as run; a week that hadn't started is refunded in full).

Who we are and your rights

Life in Accra sells billboard space as a service to you. Nothing here limits your rights under Ghanaian consumer law. These terms are governed by the laws of Ghana. Questions or complaints: Tell us in the game, or email support@lifeinaccra.com.
