Where your money goes
What real money buys in Life in Accra, and what it never buys. Part of the terms of play; refunds follow the refund policy.
What you can buy
- Cedi Coin (CC), the game's money: GHS 10: 1,000 CC · GHS 25: 2,700 CC · GHS 50: 5,600 CC · GHS 100: 12,000 CC. Prices include all fees; at most GHS 500 a day.
- You can also earn every coin by playing: jobs, businesses, rent, wishes and festivals. Buying is never needed.
- CC has no cash value. Bought, sent, won or given CC can never be cashed out or swapped back for money; only creators' own earnings can, under the creator payment terms.
What we sell for looks
- The Style shop: 18 premium cosmetics (outfits, wall paints, shop-sign colours, mural paints), from 250 CC. Looks only.
- The Accra Pass: 10 tiers a month. Premium (500 CC) adds 10 pieces of clothing, one a tier you reach by playing. Looks only: no CC, XP, pay, skills or needs.
- Cosmetics are paid once and kept. Clothes from the pass and the Style shop are yours to wear, not to sell on.
What money never buys
- No votes, seats or election help: nomination fees are the same for everyone, campaigns are free posters, and money offered for votes gets candidates removed.
- No skills, degrees, needs or pass XP for cash: those come from playing (lectures, shifts, food, sleep).
- The Rich List ranks net worth less the CC you bought yourself: everything you own, less all the Cedi Coin you have bought with cedis. CC someone else bought and sent to you counts as yours.
- Newly bought CC is held from other players for 48 hours (it spends in the city and at fair prices meanwhile), and daily limits apply to everything sent between players.
Nothing random for money
- No loot boxes, no spins, no mystery packs, no gambling. Everything you pay for says exactly what you get before you pay.
Creators
- Player designers earn on every sale of their clothes (the price less tailoring and a 10% platform share).
- Local artists earn 2 CC for each different established listener (a verified phone, not the artist or their devices) who hears one of their tracks on the car radio for 60 seconds in a day (a listener counts once an artist a day), up to 60 CC a track and 150 CC a day, from a daily pool: a small base, plus a share of cosmetics sales.
- Creators can cash out their own earnings (design sales and music payouts, 60 days after earning them) to a mobile money wallet in their name, after an identity check (Ghana Card) and a staff review, at 120 CC to GHS 1: at least 5,000 CC a time, at most 100,000 CC a month. Refunds
- Bought CC is delivered at once, so it isn't refundable once it's in your wallet; neither is what you buy with it.
- We refund in full if you were charged and the CC never arrived, charged twice, charged without your permission, or lost bought CC to a fault on our side: ask within 30 days.
- A refunded or charged-back top-up takes its CC back; any of it already spent is owed from what you earn or top up next.
- Google Play purchases follow Google Play’s refund policy. Full details: lifeinaccra.com/legal/refunds.
